Two arrested in theft of pro wrestling belt

OTTUMWA — Two men are facing charges for allegedly stealing a pro wrestling championship belt.

Ottumwa police say Joel Luke, 33, Ottumwa, stole the TNA Wrestling heavyweight championship belt and a replica during the company’s August 18 event at Bridge View Center in Ottumwa. The belt has an estimated value of $6,000 and the replica is valued at $400.

Luke has been charged with theft, a Class D felony. He was released from the Wapello County Jail after posting $5,000 bond.

Forrest Jamison, 39, also of Ottumwa, faces charges of accessory after the fact. That charge is an aggravated misdemeanor. Jamison posted $3,000 bond and was released from the Wapello County Jail.

Both the belt and replica were recovered.
