Question of the Week

January 25, 2010

Question of the Week: What is the state of the union? Right track or wrong track?

OSKALOOSA — It was a close vote for this past week’s Question of the Week: Is government reorganization the way to go to balance the state budget?

Eighteen — 51.43 percent — said YES while 17 — 48.57 percent — answered NO.

The Question of the Week poll is not scientific and only reflects the opinions of those Internet users who have chosen to participate. The Question of the Week is just another way the Herald’s readers can voice their opinions about issues that affect them.

This week’s Question of the Week deals with the state of the union.

Wednesday night, President Barack Obama will deliver his first State of the Union address.

It has been a tough year for Obama as he dealt with issues ranging from the bailout of the financial and auto industries to the War on Terror and the continued fighting in Afghanistan.

As the nation deals with economic insecurity as well as fighting overseas, many feel the nation is on the wrong track.

Can Obama right the ship of state and get the nation back on course?

What do you think?

This week’s Question of the Week: What is the state of the union? Right track or wrong track?

People can vote on The Herald’s Web site, oskaloosa.com, from Monday through noon on Friday. Then, votes will be tallied and published the following Monday.
