Question of the Week: Can Tiger Woods make a comeback after his apology?

OSKALOOSA — We had a rather skewed result for this past week’s Question of the Week: Do you support the use of marijuana as medicine?

One hundred-fifty-nine — 92.44 percent said YES while only 13 — 7.56 percent — answered NO.

The Question of the Week poll is not scientific and only reflects the opinions of those Internet users who have chosen to participate. The Question of the Week is just another way the Herald’s readers can voice their opinions about issues that affect them.

This week’s Question of the Week deals with Tiger Woods’ televised apology that aired Friday.

Woods made his first foray back into public life with a 13 1/2 minute televised speech before a small gathering at the TPC Sawgrass clubhouse to apologize for his behavior.

“I was unfaithful. I had affairs. I cheated. What I did was not acceptable,” said Woods, looking composed and speaking in a steady voice. His wife, Elin, was not with him, the Associated Press reported.

He used the word “sorry” three times and “apology” twice, according to the AP.

As for coming back to the PGA Tour, Woods said: “I do plan to return to golf one day. I just don’t know when that day will be. I don’t rule out it will be this year,” the AP reported.

Is Tiger Woods’ career finished? Can he come back from this self-inflicted adversity?
