OSKALOOSA — Just like the score of the Iowa-Ohio State game, it was a close margin for this past week’s Question of the Week: Can the Hawkeyes win their last two games without Stanzi?
Twenty-two — 46.81 percent said YES while 25 — 53.19 percent said NO.
The Question of the Week poll is not scientific and only reflects the opinions of those Internet users who have chosen to participate. The Question of the Week is just another way the Herald’s readers can voice their opinions about issues that affect them.
This week’s Question of the Week deals with the governor’s race.
A Des Moines Register poll published Saturday shows Democratic Gov. Chet Culver’s support slipping. It showed that Culver would lose to former Republican Gov. Terry Branstad by 24 percentage points and he would lose to Republican businessman Bob Vander Plaats by 8 points, the Associated Press reported.
For those of you who want change in the governor’s office, who would you rather see challenge Culver — Branstad or Vander Plaats.
Branstad is a proven leader and was the longest-serving governor in state history. However, Vander Plaats argued in his last campaign stop in Oskaloosa that having a record is a liability. He argued that Culver could change the dynamic of the debate from his own record to that of the former governor’s. Vander Plaats would not have that problem.
What do you think?
This week’s Question of the Week: Who would you like to see challenge Culver: Branstad or Vander Plaats?
People can vote on The Herald’s Web site, oskaloosa.com, from Monday through noon on Friday. Then, votes will be tallied and published the following Monday.
