OSKALOOSA —
The daffodil is the American Cancer Society’s symbol of hope that cancer will be defeated.
These bright, beautiful flowers will be here soon — the week of March 11 — and The American Cancer Society thanks you for your involvement in this event last year and invite you to continue to show your support. You and/or your business will help the American Cancer Society save lives by helping people stay well, get well, find cures and fight back.
Individuals may pre-order the blooms for friends, family, and co-workers to support the fight against cancer now through Feb. 15. The American Cancer Society is also proud to announce “Ray O Hope” the 2013 Boyd’s Bear for the Bear and a Bunch created especially for the American Cancer Society’s Daffodil Days. The society is happy to deliver Bear Hugs for Hope to the Blank Children’s Hospital and the University of Iowa Children’s Hospital. Help the society again, for a $25 donation, a 2013 Boyd’s Bear will be delivered to a child in treatment.
As in the past, anyone can order a Gift of Hope bouquet for a $25 donation. The Gift of Hope is delivered anonymously on your behalf to local survivors or individuals currently undergoing treatment. The Dainty Daffodils, miniature daffodils in a container that many people place on their desk are back again this year for $15. A bunch of daffodils can be purchased for $10.
Orders and payment (check made out to the American Cancer Society) can be mailed to Bette Farner, 617 No. 12th St., Oskaloosa, lA 52577 or Call her at (641) 672-1789.
