OSKALOOSA —
A detached garage caught fire Tuesday at 607 8th Ave. W. at the home of Rhonda Thomas and her two children.
Oskaloosa Firefighters responded to the blaze just before noon Tuesday.
While at the scene Tuesday afternoon, Oskaloosa Fire Chief Mark Neff said there were no known injuries resulting from the fire.
Around a dozen firefighters had the fire contained soon after arriving at the scene, said Neff.
“We were blessed to day,” said Neff, noting that there were firefighters involved in training already at the fire station when they were called to the scene.
Neff said the garage is a “total loss” and that the fire remains under investigation.
