OSKALOOSA —
An Oskaloosa man faces several drug charges stemming from a search of his home this past Friday.
According to an Oskaloosa Police Department press release, on July 13 at approximately 1 a.m. members of the Oskaloosa Police Department, Mahaska County Sheriff’s Office, Mahaska County Drug Task Force and Iowa State Patrol executed a narcotics search warrant at 1510 S. Market St., Oskaloosa. Methamphetamine, marijuana, Schedule II, III and IV controlled substances, prescription medications, numerous items of drug paraphernalia and a handgun were all seized from the residence.
Scott Leroy Barker, 58, was arrested on the scene and charged with possession of more than 5 grams of Methamphetamine with intent to deliver, possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, possession of Schedule II and III controlled substances with intent to deliver, possession of Schedule IV controlled substances with intent to Deliver, possession of a firearm by a felon, failure to file drug tax stamp and unlawful possession of prescription drugs.
Barker was booked into the Mahaska County Jail and is currently being held without bond. The most serious charge faced by Barker is a Class B felony, punishable by up to 25 years in prison.
Kelly Sue Gridley was also arrested on the scene and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor, and was booked into the Mahaska County Jail. She was later released with a promise to appear.
A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

This tree, which stands in front of the SHARE Iowa building at 1102 South Seventh Street this morning, appears damaged from the storms that moved through the area overnight. According to the National Weather Service, there are slight chances for thunderstorms in the Oskaloosa area today and tonight, as well as Friday. However, greater chances for thunderstorms remain for Sunday, Sunday night and Monday, according to the NWS.
