Cedar Livestock 4-H Club holds food drive

FREMONT — The Cedar Livestock 4-H group recently had a food drive for the Ecumenical Cupboard, and the group collected more than 300 non-perishable food items.

Members brought items and there were also drop off boxes at Bill’s Barber Shop, Bank Iowa, Casey’s, A&C; Motorcycle Shop and the local Credit Bureau of Iowa Station in Oskaloosa for the community to donate items as well.

Tristan Roe suggested the food drive after a letter was read to the club about another 4-H group who donated money to their local food bank. The letter challenged others to do the same, so a food drive was held, and an additional $100 was donated to the Ecumenical Cupboard.

Cedar Livestock 4-H club consists of 25 members and holds their monthly meetings in Fremont. They are very thankful to the community for all their donations. If anyone is interested in contributing, Bank Iowa continues to have a drop off box for the non-perishable food items.
