OSKALOOSA — The Mahaska County supervisors received 2010-2011 salary recommendations for county elected officials from the Mahaska County Compensation Board during their meeting Monday.
The compensation board recommended a 2 percent raise for county elected officials.
The proposed salaries include County Attorney, $82,050; Auditor, $50, 970; Recorder, $49,480; Sheriff, $64,150; Supervisors, $29,430; and Treasurer, $50,130.
The supervisors tabled the recommendation until their next meeting.
In other action, the supervisors approved a bid for an expansion of the Integrated Roadside Vegetation Management building.
IRVM Director Ben Hoskinson his department wants to build a 30-foot by 36-foot addition to its building for equipment storage. Hoskinson said he sent three bids to local contractors and received two back.
The supervisors approved an $18,351 bid from Pro-Line in New Sharon.
Supervisor Greg Gordy asked Hoskinson what the time line for the project would be.
Hoskinson said the work would be done between March 15 and June 15 — just after the spring thaw and before the start of the next fiscal year.
The supervisors also chose new leaders for the new year. Lawrence Rouw was elected board chairman and Willie VanWeelden vice chairman.
