OSKALOOSA — On Monday, May 8, at approximately 8:30 a.m., the Community First Credit Union located at 1506 A Ave. E., Oskaloosa, was robbed at gunpoint by two unknown individuals.
The two robbers entered the credit union as an employee was opening the front doors for business. Both carried long-barreled rifles as they entered the credit union. The robbers then demanded that the employees put large bills into back packs that they carried into the credit union. After this was done, the two robbers left the credit union and fled in one of the employee's vehicles. As the employees of the credit union went to lock the front doors, they noticed a small package on the floor of the credit union with an electric circuit board on top of the package that looked like a bomb. This package was left by the robbers. The employees then vacated the building and met with police.
An undisclosed amount of money was taken from the credit union.
The vehicle that the robbers fled in was a 1998 blue Honda Civic four-door, with damage to the front to mid-driver's side. The license plate for this car is Keokuk County 484BUU. If anyone sees this vehicle, they are advised to stay away, but to contact police immediately. The number for the Oskaloosa Police Department is (641) 672-2557.
