OSKALOOSA — The 2008 Southern Iowa Fair Diaper Derby and Decorated Diaper contest was held Saturday morning on the Free Stage.
The winner in the Crawlers category was Jaden Sams-Dib, of Oskaloosa, whose mother is Cassie Sams. The winner in the Walkers category was Lukas Toubekis, of Oskaloosa, whose parents are George and Amy Toubekis.
The Diaper Derby and Decorated Diaper contest was open to children less than 2-years of age as of July 20 and was attended by parents living in Oskaloosa, University Park, Rose Hill, Kirkville, Montezuma, What Cheer, Bussey, Eddyville, Albia, Searsboro, Grinnell and New Sharon.
The winners of the 2008 Southern Iowa Fair Decorated Diaper contest, Most Creative, was Andres Silva, of Oskaloosa, whose mother is Estella Silva. Andres sported a diaper decorated with a John Deere tractor. The winner in the Decorated Diaper, Best Use of Theme, was Jaden Sams-Dib for Shake Your Tail Feathers, a diaper decorated with many multi-colored feathers.
