OSKALOOSA — An Oskaloosa Middle School teacher has been charged with assault with intent to commit sexual abuse in an alleged incident that occurred almost two years ago.
Jeremy Chamberlin, 31, of Oskaloosa, was charged on Aug. 6. On Aug. 7, he was released on his own recognizance and has a preliminary hearing on Aug. 27 at 3 p.m.
According to the complaint and affidavit filed at the Mahaska County Courthouse, he allegedly fondled a 16-year-old girl at her birthday party in September of 2006.

She wrote in an e-mail that when the district is required to act upon personnel issues, it does so in accordance with state and federal statute as well as district board-approved policy.
