OSKALOOSA — Mahaska County Sheriff’s Office and Poweshiek County Sheriff’s Office deputies executed a search warrant in rural Poweshiek County at a residence belonging to Kent Harpman, 67, of Montezuma, according to a press release from the Mahaska County Sheriff’s Office.
During the search, several items were recovered that had been reported as being stolen from McGriffs of New Sharon. Officers determined that the value of the items totaled more than $1,000.
Harpman is now facing second-degree theft charges in connection with the incident. Second-degree theft is a Class D felony punishable by up to five years in prison.
