OSKALOOSA —
This was a day to embrace fitness.
Students enrolled at the Oskaloosa Christian School donned different colored T-shirts and took to the grass for some fitness activities at the Lacey Recreation Complex on Wednesday.
Oskaloosa Christian School Principal Jason Alons said the school was asked by a group from Oskaloosa if they wanted to do something related to promoting fitness. He said the school board and teachers were for it and the Fall Fitness Day was planned.
Students participated in numerous activities at the Lacey Recreation Complex. From plastic pail stacking to kicking a soccer ball into a goal, all of the children remained active.
Oskaloosa Christian Schools’ chapel groups, which are a mixture of kindergarten through eighth-grade students, participated in Wednesday’s Fall Fitness Day, noted Alons.
“They’re coming out and doing different fitness activities that the teachers planned and spending a little over an hour out here doing some fitness stuff,” said Alons.
With clear skies and temperatures hovering in the low- to mid-80s, Alons agreed Wednesday’s weather couldn’t have been more accommodating for Fall Fitness Day.
“We had a beautiful day for it,” said Alons. “That’s for sure.”
