NEW SHARON —
North Mahaska Elementary will host a Scholastic Book Fair the week of Dec. 10 through Dec. 17 at the elementary school cafeteria.
Funds raised will help fund grant requests through the North Mahaska Education Foundation.
The Book Fair will be held during the following times:
Monday, Dec. 10
7:45 to 8:15 a.m.
3:15 to 8 p.m.
Tuesday, Dec. 11
7:45 to 8:15 a.m.
3:15 to 4 p.m.
Wednesday, Dec. 12
7:45 to 8:15 a.m.
2 to 2:30 p.m.
Thursday, Dec. 13
7:45 to 8:15 a.m.
3:15 to 8 p.m.
Note: The book fair will be closed from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. during the Elementary Christmas concert.
Friday, Dec. 14
7:45 to 8:15 a.m.
3:15 to 8 p.m.
The Book Fair offers specially priced books and educational products, including popular series, award-winning titles, new releases, adult bestsellers and other great reads from more than 100 publishers.
Book Fair customers may help the school build classroom libraries by purchasing books through the Classroom Wish List program. Teachers will have preselected titles available for purchase.
New this year, there is an electronic link to the book fair, which can be accessed at scholastic.com/fair. Simply search fairs within 5 miles of zip code 50207, and the North Mahaska Elementary book fair will appear. Ebooks for electronic readers and tablets are available for purchase under the Storia portion of the Web site.

This tree, which stands in front of the SHARE Iowa building at 1102 South Seventh Street this morning, appears damaged from the storms that moved through the area overnight. According to the National Weather Service, there are slight chances for thunderstorms in the Oskaloosa area today and tonight, as well as Friday. However, greater chances for thunderstorms remain for Sunday, Sunday night and Monday, according to the NWS.
