OSKALOOSA —
James E. Brennon, 79, of Oskaloosa died Sunday, July 25, 2010, at his home in Oskaloosa.
He was born on July 22, 1931, to Mr. and Mrs. Mike Brennon, at Iowa City. He served his country in the U.S. Navy. Upon being discharged from the Navy, he moved to Newton and went to work for Vernon Company. On June 8, 1957, he was untied in marriage to Joyce Hamilton in Oskaloosa. He moved to Oskaloosa and went to work for Garden Engineering. He retired from Orkin Pest Control in 1994. He enjoyed trips to the casino. He was a member of the V.F.W.
His family includes his wife, Joyce Brennon, of Oskaloosa; their five children: James Michael Brennon, of Oskaloosa, Robert Dean Brennon, of New Sharon, Carol Marie (and Brian) Brownrigg, of Perry, Kimberly Jane Brennon, of Illinois, and Pamela Jean (and Jim) Konopka, of Oskaloosa; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a son-in-law: Jeff Slagter.
As was James’ wish his body has been cremated and no services are planned. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
