MARSHALLTOWN —
Carroll J. Beck, 87, of Marshalltown, passed away Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012, at Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center, in Marshalltown.
Memorial services will be at 1 p.m., Friday, Nov. 30, at the Gateway Church of the Nazarene, in Oskaloosa. Visitation will be from noon until the time of the services. Inurnment will be at Vanmeter National Cemetery.
The Main St. Chapel of the Anderson Funeral Homes in Marshalltown has been entrusted with the arrangements.
Carroll was born May 17, 1925, to Maurice “Herschel” and FeDelia A. (Ferneua) Beck in Montezuma. He was united in marriage to Pauline Glandon in Oskaloosa. Carroll served his country in U.S. Navy from 1943 to 1946, and then 1952 to 1954 and 1955 to 1957 in the U.S. Army. Upon returning home from the service in 1957, Carroll tried his hand at farming, carpentry, and construction work, but settled on long distance truck driving. He enjoyed selling at flea markets before retiring to Topock, Ariz., in 1997.
Carroll will be missed by his seven children; Debra, Thomas, Nancy, David Allen, Diana, Carroll Eugene, and Raymond.
