EDDYVILLE — Ralph Eugene Williams, age 59, of rural Eddyville died Aug. 25, 2012 in rural  Monroe County, Iowa.

Ralph was born March 25, 1953 in rural Monroe County, Iowa to Lester and Alice (Hazelette) Williams.  He attended Eddyville  High School.

Ralph attended Eddyville High School before working for a few years at the Comstock Saw Mill.   Ralph was an independent Log Hauler most of his life.  He enjoyed raising and riding horses and his children and grandson.

Ralph was united in marriage on March 1, 1997 to Karen Kay Moore. They were blessed with 15 years of marriage and two children Alice and Dale.

Ralph is survived by his wife: Karen and two children: Alice Moore and Dale Moore, all of Oskaloosa; one grandson: Broady Lee Moore and one future grandson Cooper Eugene Moore; two brothers: Richard Charles Williams of Oskaloosa and David Lee Williams of Hutchinson, Kansas; and one sister Rita Mae (Dee) Parker of Bussey, Iowa; Ralph is also survived by Karen’s mother Doris Gossett of California City, CA; and Karen’s brothers and sisters Matthew Moore of California City, CA, Scott Moore of Washington state, Douglas (Amy) Moore of Oskaloosa, Jeffrey (Wendy) Moore of California City, CA, Karla Moore of Kirkville, Kristine (Juan) Garcia of Braidwood, Il, and Merilee Redford of Des Moines; several nieces and nephews; and one favorite aunt Linda (Ron) Thorne of Ottumwa.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his father-in-law Marcus Moore; two brothers Raymond Dale Williams and Lester Dean Williams; one sister Alice Roberta Williams; and one sister-in-law Sandra Lee Williams.

Funeral services for Ralph will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2012 at the  Eddyville  United Methodist Church. Burial will follow services at  Pleasant Corners Cemetery of rural Monroe County.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 28, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Eddyville Funeral Chapel.  Ralph’s family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday evening.

 Memorials may be made to Ralph’s grandchildren education.
