BOBBY ‘BOB’ HINMON

JAN. 25, 1930 — FEB. 10, 2013

MARSHALLTOWN — Bobby “Bob” Hinmon, 83, of Marshalltown, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013, at his home.

Bob was born Jan. 25, 1930, in New Sharon, to Merrill and Mary (Smeeth) Hinmon. He grew up in the New Sharon and Oskaloosa area and graduated from New Sharon High School in 1947. Following graduation, Bob enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served until his honorable discharge in 1950. Bob married Dorothy Edna Mulvihill on Oct. 7, 1951. They continued to reside in the Oskaloosa area.

Bob was employed at Chicago Northwestern Railroad from 1951 until his retirement in 1989. Bob enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing the lottery.

Left to cherish his memory include his wife of 61 years, Dorothy; sons: Michael (Dorene) and James (Linda), of Marshalltown; grandchildren: Carrie (Joe) Richards, of California, Maryland, Wyatt (Angie) Manship, of Marshalltown, Breanna (Dan Dehrkoop) Hinmon, of Ottumwa, and Ryan Hinmon, of Marshalltown, and great-grandchildren: Tori, Bailee, Emma, Lilly and Triston Richards, of Maryland, and Kohl and Paige Manship, of Marshalltown.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Patrick John Hinmon in 2009; brother, Jim Hinmon and sister, Marilyn Jean Northcutt.
