PELLA —
Daniels Reynolds, 70, of Pella, died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013, at the Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines. He was born Jan. 10, 1943, at Leon, Iowa, the son of Lowell Roberts and Bette Jean Daniels Reynolds. Early in life he was baptized at the Methodist Church in Davis City, Iowa. He graduated from the Oskaloosa High School with the class of 1961. He worked for a short time at the Holiday Gas Station in Oskaloosa. On July 1, 1966, he was united in marriage to Shirley VanRossum in Oskaloosa. He left his job at the Holiday Station to go to work for Rolscreen (now Pella Corporation), and he retired from there in 1996. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. Dan also collected coins and model trains.
His family includes his wife of over 46 years Shirley Reynolds of Pella; a daughter and her husband, Rebecca and Todd VanGorp of Pella; five grandchildren; and a sister, Zerita Reynolds of Ankeny.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
Graveside funeral services and burial will be held Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013, at 2:30 p.m. in the Indianapolis Cemetery near What Cheer. A procession will form at 1:50 Wednesday afternoon at the Bates Funeral Chapel for those wishing to go to the cemetery. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. No visitation is planned. A memorial has been established in his name.
