OSKALOOSA —
Dale D. Allee, 77, of Oskaloosa, died Monday, Feb. 18, 2013, at the Mahaska Hospice Serenity House in Oskaloosa.
He was born May 10, 1935 at Taintor, the son of Earnest M. and Maude Milledge Allee. On Jan. 19, 1953, he was united in marriage to Sally J. Tucker at Montezuma. Early on Dale drove a low-boy for Kaiser Construction. He went on to manage Fina & Trax Service Stations in Oskaloosa. Lastly he worked for Norris Construction in Ottumwa, and retired from there in 1998. Dale enjoyed tinkering in the garage, working in the yard and watching NASCAR. He enjoyed working on cars; early on building and working on race cars, and buying and selling old cars and old car parts. Later in life he enjoyed making trips to Prairie Meadows. He had a soft spot in his heart for animals; especially dogs. He was a social member of the V.F.W. and the Eagles.
His family includes his wife of over 60 years, Sally Allee, of Oskaloosa; their children, Randy Allee, of San Jose Calif., Sharee (and Jay) Walter, of Austin, Texas, Karen Smith, of Des Moines, Jack (and Angie) Allee, of Tigard, Ore., Marsha (and Brad) VanDusseldorp, of Pella, and Ernest (and Vonda) Allee, of Oskaloosa; nine grandchildren, Jennifer (and Chad) Albaugh, Amanda (and Brian) Schroder, Jacob (and Michelle) Allee, Melissa (and Shane Bloodsworth) Van Dusseldorp, Ezra Allee, Reggie (and Joebe) Smith, Lindsey (and Billy Moore) Allee, Emily Allee and Jackson Allee; 15 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Rae Tucker, of Ottumwa; and many nieces and nephews, including, Phil Laud, Douglas Long and Janet Long.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, Kelsey Jo Smith; a son-in-law, Tom Smith; three brothers, Tracy, James, and Raymond Long; a sister, Dorothy Swan; his mother-in-law, Gail Teetie Tucker; a brother-in-law, Tommy Tucker; and a sister-in-law, Joyce Dody Laud.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Feb. 21, at 11 a.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa with Pastor Alvern Boetsma officiating. As was Dale’s wish, his body will be cremated following the funeral ceremony. Burial of the urn will be in the Bellefountaine Cemetery at a later date. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation with the family present will be in the Bates Funeral Chapel on Thursday morning from 9:30 until service time at 11. Memorials may be made to MHP Hospice Serenity House.
