OSKALOOSA —
Robert “Bob” Masters Jr., 52, of Oskaloosa, died Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2012, at his home in Oskaloosa.
He was born Oct. 31, 1959, in Omaha, Neb., the son of Robert S. and Helen Tonder Masters. He graduated from the Ron Collie High School in Omaha, with the class of 1978. He drove a delivery truck for UPS for 25 years, retiring from there in 2007. Bob earned his master’s degree in business from Southern University in 2007. On Oct. 31, 2009, he was united in marriage to Michelle Olberding, in Washington, Iowa. They moved to Oskaloosa in 2011. He was a strong supporter of the NRA and enjoyed writing music.
His family includes his wife, Michelle Masters, of Oskaloosa; a brother and his wife, Schuyler and Terri Masters, of Omaha, Neb.; a sister, Julie Masters, of Papillion, Neb.; and a nephew, Alex Masters.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters in infancy.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, Oct. 7, at 4 p.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa with the Rev. Jean Wallenburg officiating. As was Bob’s wish his body has been cremated. Visitation with the family present will be held on Sunday afternoon from 2 until service time at 4. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
