An overwhelming majority of those who answered last week’s Question of the Week: Is this the wettest summer since the Flood of 1993? said “Yes.”
Thirty-one — 72.09 percent — answered “Yes” while 12 — 27.91 percent — said “No.”
The Question of the Week poll is not scientific and only reflects the opinions of those Internet users who have chosen to participate. The Question of the Week is just another way the Herald’s readers can voice their opinions about issues that affect them.
This week’s Question of the Week deals with the biggest football weekend in the state of Iowa — The Iowa/Iowa State game.
Saturday, Sept. 15, Herky and Cy are set to duke it out on the gridiron at Jack Trice Stadium in Ames.
Both teams are out for redemption this year after suffering disappointing seasons in 2006. The Cyclones ended the year 4-8 and the Hawkeyes crash-landed with a 6-7 record.
Iowa State has a new coach — “Mean Gene” Chizik — to take on “Capt. Kirk” Ferentz and his Hawkeyes. Chizik’s predecessor, Dan McCarney, had the Cyclone revved up for the game like it was a BCS Bowl.
Will the Cyclones be up for the game? Will the Hawkeyes dispense with Iowa State and sharpen their talons for Wisconsin?
What do you think?
This week’s Question of the Week: Who will win the Iowa-Iowa State game? The Hawkeyes or The Cyclones.
People can vote on The Herald’s Web site, oskaloosa.com, from Monday through noon on Friday. Then, votes will be tallied and published the following Monday.
