Local Oskaloosa members participated in Martial Art tournaments

For the pass two weekends, Brayton’s Black Belt Academy and Karate for Kids participated in two tournaments — one in Sheldon, and the other in St Louis, Mo.
Brayton’s Black Academy and Karate for Kids belong to the American Taekwondo Association. The ATA has tournaments all of the US including Korea where ATA originated from.
Allen Chilcote, Matthew Chilcote, Allen Chilcote III, Clark Hunt and Katie Hargrove participated in the Sheldon tournament and Allen Chilcote, Matthew Chilcote and Allen Chilcote III participated in the St Louis tournament.
At the tournament in Sheldon, Allen Chilcote took second place in forms, first place in weapons. Matthew took first place in forms, weapons and sparring. Allen III took second place in Sparring, third in weapons. Katie Hargrove took third place in Sparring and second place in forms. Clarke Hunt took home two Tiny tiger Victory medals.
At the St Louis tournament, Allen Chilcote took first place in forms, weapons and sparring. Matthew took first place sparring, third place in forms and weapons. Allen Chilcote III took third place in sparring and fourth place in weapons.
Allen Chilcote is a third-degree black belt and his son, Matthew Chilcote, is also a third-degree black belt. Allen Chilcote III, grandson of Allen Chilcote, is a Brown Belt. Katie Hargrove is a Green Belt and Clark Hunt is an Orange Belt.
Both Allen and Matthew are currently holding the American Taekwondo Association World Championship in the top 10 at this time, and holding Iowa State Champion.
