The Oskaloosa wrestling team held its annual awards banquet Thursday night.
The highlight of the night came when the Tyler DeHeer Award was given to freshman Daniel Williams, who was a state qualifier and finished with a record of 29-9 at 119 pounds.
Senior Trent Brown, who was 37-5 and finished third at 135, was voted the Most Valuable Wrestler while Brett Sams, a fifth-place finisher at 145, went 33-5 and received the Hardest Worker Award.
The duo also received a Pride Club pin as they were not pinned all season.
Sams was a four-time Little Hawkeye Conference champion, joining head coach Brandon Graham in that elite club.
Keoki Gibson and Cody Dickerson received all-conference academic honors and Tanner Wanders was named the JV Wrestler of the Year.
