OSKALOOSA — The Iowa High School football district alignments were released by the Iowa High School Athletic Association and several teams will have new district opponents.
After several years of playing each other in non-district contests, Oskaloosa and Pella were placed in Class 3A, District 7 for the next two years. Joining them will be Centerville, Chariton, Fairfield, Fort Madison, Keokuk and Mount Pleasant.
Pella Christian moved up a class from 1A to 2A and will be in District 8 along with Bondurant-Farrar, Clarinda, Clarke, Colfax-Mingo, Interstate 35, PCM and Shenandoah.
Eddyville-Blakesburg will be playing in District 6 and its opponents are Albia, Central Lee, Davis County, Mediapolis, Mid-Prairie, Sigourney-Keota and West Burlington.
Montezuma and North Mahaska are in Class A, District 6 and will compete against Belle Plaine, BGM, HLV, Iowa Valley and Lynnville-Sully.
Both Tri-County and Twin Cedars are placed in District 5 among 8-Player teams. They will be meeting Grandview Park Baptist, Harmony, Melcher-Dallas, Meskwaki Settlement School, Moravia and Seymour on the gridiron for the next two years.
