OSKALOOSA — On the weekend of Jan. 15-17, Aubrey Miller, of Oskaloosa, was chosen to swim for Team Iowa for the 2010 Midwestern All-Stars swim meet in Lawrence, Kan.
The Iowa All-Stars competed against seven other states for a total of 349 swimmers from ages 9 to 14. To make the team you had to be one of the five fastest swimmers in in the state for each event. She was one of 12 girls from the state of Iowa to make the team in the age group of 10 and under.
Aubrey swam in the maximum amount of individual events a swimmer could participate in — six events and she also swam in one relay. Aubrey swam the breast stroke in the 200 medley relay, 200 individual medley, 100 individual medley, 100 breaststroke, 100 backstroke, 100 freestyle and the 50 backstroke.
In those events, Aubrey finished sixth in the 200 medley relay, ninth in the 100 breaststroke, 14th in the 100 IM and the 200 IM, 15th in the 100 freestyle, 16th in the 100 backstroke and 22nd in the 50 backstroke.
Team Colorado finished first in team scoring and Team Iowa finished fourth.
