WATERLOO —
Oskaloosa’s Amanda Stefanik capped off a stellar season with a fourth-place finish at the Class 1A singles tournament Friday at Byrnes Park.
Stefanik won her first two matches on Thursday as she bested Hannah Coenen of Spirit Lake-Okoboji, 6-0, 6-4 in the first round then dispatched Kate Walker of Red Oak, 6-4, 6-2 in the quarterfinals.
Stefanik faced Jalyn Deering of Camanche in the semifinal and went down to a 6-0, 6-2 defeat.
That placed the Oskaloosa player in the third-place match against Mary Eide of Fort Dodge St. Edmond with Eide taking a 7-5, 6-4 decision from Stefanik.
