OSKALOOSA —
The Oskaloosa community and surrounding areas are invited to join William Penn University staff, faculty, and students at a recognition ceremony for the William Penn University men’s basketball program to celebrate its historic season.
The Statesmen finished the 2012–13 season ranked No. 1 in the NAIA with the best record in program history. As Midwest Collegiate Conference regular season and tournament champions, the team went on to become the NAIA national runner-up, following its 4–1 record at the championship tournament in Point Lookout, Mo.
The event is sponsored by William Penn University and the William Penn Booster Club. Fans are invited to gather in the William Penn University Gymnasium on Thursday at 11:15 a.m. to congratulate players and coaches on their hard work, dedication, and success of the 2012–13 season.
An autograph session with the players will be held immediately following the event.
