OSKALOOSA —
Cody Bossard’s run for a two-point conversion in the fourth quarter was denied by Norwalk as the Warriors recorded the 21-19 win over the Indians junior varsity Monday night.
Bossard, who rushed for 19 yards in the game, got to the end zone twice for the Indians, the second coming on an 8-yard dash with 4:26 left in the game.
However, Oskaloosa failed to tie the game on the two-point conversion attempt and Norwalk didn’t give the ball back to the Indians, running out the clock.
Oskaloosa’s other touchdown came from Ethan Huyser early in the second quarter on a 2-yard run.
The Indians outgained the Warriors 265-215 as Norwalk had just one yard passing.
Rily Coniglio led the Oskaloosa rushing attack with 135 yards as Huyser ran for 60 yards. TJ Boyle picked up four yards rushing and Jesse VanDalen ran for three yards.
VanDalen completed 4 of 14 passes for 44 yards and was not intercepted.
Ki-Jana DeJong had two catches for 28 yards as Boyle and Nick Waters both had one reception for 11 and five yards respectively.
DeJong led the defense with 13 tackles as Bossard and Boyle getting in seven tackles apiece. Boyle also recoverd a fumble. Huyser had six tackles and recovered a fumble while Philip Ringgenberg also recorded six tackles. Kyle Brown had four tackles as did Samuel Ginaven. Andy Ruiz made three tackles followed by Coniglio and Trevor Mabee with two tackles each. Collecting one tackle each were Waters, Jordan Silvers and Hunter Simmons.
