OSKALOOSA — Oskaloosa won six of seven games to capture Pool A at its tournament Saturday then was knocked off by eventual runner-up Fairfield in the championship bracket semifinals.
The Indians beat Nevada (21-16, 21-19), Southeast Polk (21-19, 21-18) and Marshalltown (13-21, 21-17, 16-14) to win their pool. Nevada was second followed by Marshalltown and Southeast Polk came in fourth.
In the championship semifinals, Oskaloosa faced Fairfield, which posted the 25-14, 20-25, 15-9 victory. The Trojans fell to Johnston 25-14, 25-15 in the champinship match.
Johnston won its pool with Fairfield placing second, Grundy Center third and Ottumwa fourth. Marshalltown beat Grund Center 25-21, 25-22 for theconsolation title.
Katie Rielly had 27 kills and Lottie Staggs added 11.
