OSKALOOSA —
Pella used a pair of fourth-quarter touchdowns to rally past Oskaloosa 26-17 Monday night in junior varsity action at Lacey Complex Stadium.
With the Indians leading 17-13 going to the fourth quarter, the Little Dutch’s Trevor Argo recovered an Oskaloosa fumble at the 9-yard line and scored the go-ahead touchdown with 8:33 left in the game for a 19-17 lead.
Pella then added a 27-yard touchdown run by Brian Rundle late in the game for the final margin.
Rundle finished the game with 104 yards rushing while Jesse Arrendell had two short TD runs as he ran for 24 yards. Isaac Naaktgeboren had 58 yards on the ground.
Riley Coniglio led the Oskaloosa ground attack with 74 yards as Jimmy Brown had 14 yards rushing. Zach Mateer rushed for seven yards while the duo of TJ Boyle and Cody Bossard had five and three yards rushing respectively.
Jesse VanDalen completed 6 of 13 passes for 123 yards with two touchdowns and one interception.
Spencer Medlin caught three passes for 73 yards and a 45-yard touchdown catch at the end of the first half. Coniglio had two receptions for 29 yards while Drea Lamb had a 21-yard TD reception.
The other Oskaloosa points came on a 32-yard field goal by Nick Waters.
Mateer led the Indians in tackles with 13 as he added 4.5 tackles for loss and a sack. Coniglio had nine tackles and intercepted a pass. Boyle also recorded nine tackles as Bossard was in on eight tackles. Brown had seven tackles followed by Mitchell Schaffner with six and Andy Ruiz had four tackles. Waters was in three stops while Lamb, Cody Jones and Jeremy Schneider had two tackles each. Collecting one tackle apiece were Medlin, Kyle Brown, Darin Yang, Samuel Ginaven, Ethan Huyser and Trevor Mabee.
