HIAWATHA —
It was the last meet before state this coming weekend. The Transform Academy gymnasts JO (Junior Olympic) Compulsory Team competed on Dec.1-2 at the Jingle Bell Gymboree hosted by CRAG Gymnastics.
Again at this past weekend’s meet, all of the girls improved one or more of their scores to record a season best.
This coming weekend, Dec. 7-9, is the Iowa State Championship Meet competition held in Clive at the 7 Flags Event Center and hosted by Triad Gymnastics of Ankeny. All 10 of the Compulsory gymnasts have qualified for the state competition which is a great accomplishment in itself both by the gymnast and their coach Meghan Slay.
Gymnasts must score a 31.000 in the all-around at a season’s competitive event to be eligible or qualify for the state competition.
This will be last scheduled meet for the compulsory team, but the girls will still be working on skills, strength and routines already for the next year as soon as they are done.
